A Life Filled with Love, Faith, and Celebration

Today, we gather to plant this tree in loving memory of a remarkable woman—our mom, grandma, and great-grandma. As its roots take hold and its branches reach toward the sky, may it stand as a living reminder of the love she gave so freely and the joy she brought into our lives.

She knew how to make life feel like a celebration. Every holiday became an occasion to gather, decorate, laugh, and make memories. She loved them all—Halloween costumes and trick-or-treating, Easter eggs, Thanksgiving, St. Patrick’s Day, and Valentine’s Day—but Christmas held the most special place in her heart.

At Christmastime, she seemed young at heart again. She loved the snow, the glow of the tree lights, the familiar decorations, and the happy bustle of baking cookies. Christmas musicals filled the season with music, while the warmth of her kitchen brought everyone together. She loved to cook and bake, and she always wanted to know what everyone else was making for dinner. Even an ordinary conversation could become a way for her to share in the lives of those she loved.

Her creativity could be seen in so many parts of her life. She decorated, sewed little crafts, and was a talented oil painter and artist. She brought imagination and care to tea parties with butterfly cakes and found joy in shopping for just the right thing. These were not simply hobbies; they were ways she made the world around her brighter and more beautiful.

Her faith was also at the heart of who she was. She read Bible verses and daily lessons, sang in the church choir, and gave her time to the church preschool. Through her service, her music, and her quiet example, she shared kindness with people of every generation.

Most of all, she gave us the gift of her presence. She showed us that love lives in the small things: a garden about dinner, a favorite song, cookies in the oven, lights on a Christmas tree, a handmade craft, or time spent together. Those moments may have seemed ordinary then, but today they are treasures.

As we plant this tree, we remember a life filled with family, faith, creativity, and celebration. With every season it passes through—and every new leaf it grows—may we be reminded that her story continues in all of us. The love she planted in our hearts will keep growing, and the memories she shared with us will live on forever.

She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in our hearts.
